Job Description:
The BRIC is a unique, fully-appointed research environment where scientists and engineers collaborate with industry, business, and workforce development professionals to bring new ideas and products to life. Additionally, area students and the Greater Waco community can, through educational outreach, share the excitement of scientific discovery. Administrative assistants help with maintaining the effectiveness of the facility by working to organize events and completing day-to-day operations.
BRIC Student Worker Office Assistant will be expected to:
- Check in with the BRIC facilities coordinator for daily instructions about new projects and daily events.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere by assisting guests with questions, directions to events, and meetings with BRIC tenants.
- Prepare for upcoming events by gathering supplies, creating Wi-Fi, and checking technology equipment.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, by sending package notifications and organizing mail.
- Work to keep the facility presentable by stocking and organizing office materials and checking digital displays.
- Maintain reports regarding past events and tenant information.
- Provide help with miscellaneous projects when needed.
The BRIC front office staff will provide training that takes the student-worker through the essentials and expectations of working in the facility. Applicants should have polished customer service skills, and experience in Microsoft platforms.
- Provide general office assistance and support
- Greet clients and visitors with excellent customer service; answer inquiries and provide information
- Maintain files and reports and ensure confidentiality of information
- Assist with various projects, activities, or tasks as needed
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
