About the Team:

The team is in the Operations organization and is responsible for release engineering and backend platform tools. We build, maintain, and support tooling for connecting pieces of the platforms: gems, libraries, CI/CD, and everything that services at Invoca have in common. Think of this team as a multiplier- improving the lives of service owners.

About the Role:

The Senior Software Engineer - Release Engineering is an essential part of a development team using agile and test-driven-development methodologies. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining internal tools and services to support our automated Release Engineering CI/CD pipeline and related platform services. This role reports to the Software Engineering Manager. 

You Will:

• Write high-quality code
• Operate independently on complex tasks
• Be a technical expert in an area or feature set
• Have end-to-end responsibility for projects of increasing complexity
• Identify and suggest areas of future work and back up suggestions with evidence
• Identify and mitigate risk in the development cycle, from ideation to delivery
• Keep leaders up-to-date on progress, blockers, and potential surprises (both positive and negative)
• Diagnose the root cause of problems for any service area owned by the team
• Communicate on production issues, write actionable tickets without prompting, and quickly fix or delegate them
• Use logic and reason to build cases for ideas, backed up by qualitative and quantitative evidence

You Have:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience 
• Experience with some of our primary technologies: Ruby on Rails (or similar), MySQL/PostgreSQL, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• Competence in monitoring, performance optimization, integration testing, security, visual design, and more

• Position Base Range - $127,000.00 - 160,000.00 / plus bonus potential
