Responsible for performing duties in the Materials Management function (GMP receipt, quarantine and sampling, shipping to include raw materials and bulk drug substance, non-GMP receiving/delivery). Materials maybe of a hazardous/ controlled nature requiring regulatory endorsements prior to handling. Verifies quantity and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment. This position can also involve Materials Management business requirements such as developing reports, preparing metrics and/or analyzing data, support site change controls, discrepancy management and MRO inventory management responsibilities. Will assume the Lead role during absences.

Assists the Lead in ensuring all Materials Management responsibilities and functions are performed in a safe and compliant manner.
Provide on the job training and coaching to staff members. Promote and implement continuous process improvement methodologies and culture.
Follow and drive department non-negotiables.

Follows established safety and environmental guidelines and procedures for all work performed. Immediately reports safety and environmental incidents including injuries, illnesses, near misses, and safety suggestions. Fosters a positive safety culture in which no one gets hurt.
Who you are:
Education and Experience
Associate Degree and 6 years Materials Management experience.
Or HS and 8 years Materials Management experience.
Minimum 4 year experience in GMP regulated environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrate leadership, strong communication and good problem solving, interpersonal, team and customer service skills.
Must demonstrate strong focus on quality, details and results.
Proficiency with all PC desktop applications and business operations software system to include Visio, Project and Powerpoint.
Prior experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing environment.
Prior training in chemicals/powder handling/ dispensing, and good laboratory methods/ practices.
Ability to obtain Hazardous Materials endorsement within IATA and DOT guidelines.
Ability to meet DEA requirements for controlled materials exemption certification, if necessary.
Valid California drivers license and good driving record
Strong knowledge of inventory management principles.
Knowledge of APICS principles preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations
Ability to work full shift schedule without a flexibility to leave campus outside of normal lunch hour and breaks.
Schedule could include a non-rotating 4-day (10 hour shift), one weekend day, evening or night hours, or full off-shift hours. OT may be required to run operations. On-call and off shift call back may be required.
Changes in shift hours as needed to run operations.
Expected to be on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day.
Lift up to 40lbs may be required.
Environment may require gowning in the form of hospital scrubs, bunny suits, gloves and steel toe boots be worn.
Exposure to level 1 chemical.
Expert knowledge of various MHE equipment required.

Pay transparency
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oceanside is 51,700.00 - 95,900.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
