This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 20-25% travel.

The Associate Director Field Sales Operations supports the attainment of Therapeutic Area sales objectives through comprehensive needs assessments, alignment of subject matter experts, and facilitation of solutions generation to address business needs and organizational challenges. Their actions support informed decision-making and solution tracking by senior leaders.


 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform with a growth mindset, consistently encouraging technology utilization and looking for opportunities to progress the organization towards accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage processes to streamline workflow, adapt to continuous changes, prioritize tasks, and stay ahead of planning processes in areas including but not limited to field structural changes, account planning, meeting support, field feedback initiatives, etc.
  • Collaborate with field leaders to identify and fulfill communication needs including but not limited to field personnel guidance, policy changes, sales operations tasks, sales bulletins, etc.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert around user experience and field team engagement for operational processes, enrolling departmental support based on needs of individual projects or to support questions from leadership teams.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to lead through change management, identifying areas of risk and mitigating these concerns prior to program rollout to ensure seamless field adoption. This includes consulting with leadership about the impact and usability of reports and resources intended for field sales.
  • Represent Field Sales strategy / perspective when working cross functionally on processes including Targeting, Call Planning, Incentive Compensation, Sample Management, Report Development, Compliance, etc. Provide context and guidance to field sales leaders to understand the “why” behind HQ department and process decisions creating a support network for effective change and a feedback loop when necessary.
  • Lead or co-lead special initiatives and projects to drive key business results (through strong project planning and management)
  • Development and presentation of resources (Power Point, Word Documents, Emails, Excel Files, etc.) that support effective decision making and change management
  • Elevate field sales service tickets if the designated help desk/field inquiry process is not fulfilling expectations including the identification of themes and exception cases with regard to field platforms, ensuring consistent and effective reporting and system performance
  • As needed, provide logistical coordination for National/Regional Sales Meetings including Launches and Business Reviews

Essential Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical commercial sales related experience
  • Demonstrates strong competencies and experience in operations, execution, and project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in working in cross functional teams, with demonstrated history of effective communications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without authority to a collaborative solution
  • Ability to work in situations of uncertainty, adapting to change and driving solutions based on system level thinking.
  • Knowledge of internal organizational process and procedures
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to diagnose business issues and develop / adjust strategies, plans and tactics to achieve business objectives
  • Excellent business/commercial acumen; demonstrates ability to self-start, initiate and deal with ambiguities
  • Experienced in establishing and cultivating relationships; able to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and partners across the organization
  • Uses diverse and varied approaches to persuade, negotiate and influence operational decisions
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and in a team structure; maintain strong cross-functional ties with key business partners
  • Proven track record of developing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Cardiovascular experience preferred
