Physical Therapy Assistant

Physical therapist assistants provide physical therapy services to patients with illness or disabling conditions to maximize functional independence in collaboration with the licensed physical therapist. The physical therapist assistant provides intervention and education to appropriate patients after the initial therapy evaluation and intervention are completed by the licensed physical therapist. The physical therapist assistant works closely with the patient, family and other members of a physician-led team in providing individualized patient care. The physical therapist assistant assists with department and program planning. Experience: None Specified
Education: Associate degree in applied science from a physical therapist assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Licensure/Certification: Current Physical Therapy Assistant Licensure in the state of Minnesota. BLS certification within 3 months of hire. An Iowa license will be required if working at Iowa facilities.
