• Starting hourly base pay: $18.50

Woodward in Zeeland, MI is looking for mechanical assembler on our 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm to join our team. If you have experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment, apply now!

What you will be doing 

Essential Functions

• Physically transfers material from one process to another.  Picks material from racks, trays and shelves, and prepares them for assembly, sub-assembly, spare part orders or other subsequent processes.  Performs various inventory transactions to move, stock, pick, return to stock inventory, adjust inventory, etc.

• Performs a variety of administrative tasks such as verifying or filling out paperwork, inputting or providing data, maintaining inventory accuracy, etc., completing paperwork, and data entry or reporting.

• Performs a variety of organizational functions such as counting, weighing packaging etc. according to SOP to prepare materials for subsequent processes.

• Coordinates and prioritizes materials and item movements from receiving and product drop off areas, sorts and stores on racks, trays and shelves in a predetermined order, i.e. stocking parts and identifies potential issues and helps provide corrective actions.

• Attaches identifying tags or labels to stock or marks information on containers.

• Contributes to continuous process improvements, by identifying problems, supporting data collection programs, and by sharing best practices.

• Develops and maintains operating procedures, work instructions and training plans for the stock room.

• Assists in training, and offers guidance for other members.

• Maintains accurate inventory quantity and traceability on inventory items by using site ERP System.

• Counts inventory for cycle counting purposes, open/closes cycle count batches and trouble shoots discrepancies and helps provide corrective actions.

Other Functions

• Identifies and records non-conformance and stock discrepancies.  Records for dispositioning and traceability and contributes to corrective actions.
