About the role

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers is looking for a passionate, creative, resourceful intern to join the Editorial team. Program Dates: September 15, 2025 – December 11 , 2025Location: New York (in office on a three day per week hybrid schedule) A company laptop will be providedSchedule: 28 hours/week, Monday–Thursday, 9 am–5 pmPay rate: $16.50/hour  In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings. Our ideal candidate is:
  • Interested in exploring a career in book publishing, with a specific passion for children’s literature
  • A self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and work independently
  • A team player with a keen desire to learn
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Spanish-language proficiency is a plus 
Job responsibilities include:
  • Logging, reviewing, and drafting feedback on manuscript submissions
  • Researching comparative titles
  • Mailing to creators and agents
  • Keeping online databases up to date
  • General administrative duties
