Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a highly qualified Senior Sensor Architect and Integration Engineer to join the office of the Chief Engineer supporting the E-7 Advanced Effort in Tukwila, WA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing advanced sensor design concepts, refining performance requirements and maturing them to detailed designs for E-7 integrated advanced sensor systems. This Systems Architect will work with SEIT, Mission Computing Software and Mission Computing Hardware IPTs to develop an integrated approach for the command and control of advanced sensors to meet the operational requirements of an Advanced E-7.  This role will focus on the integration of advanced sensors into the E-7 aircraft, encompassing software, electrical, power, cooling interfaces, cosite, blanking, and electromagnetics. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architectural design and integration of advanced sensor systems into the E-7 aircraft, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and performance specifications

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software, electrical, power, and cooling interfaces for advanced sensors

  • Evaluate and address cosite, blanking, and electromagnetic compatibility issues to ensure optimal system performance

  • Provide technical direction and leadership for the integration of other advanced sensors, communications, and survivability systems into the E-7 platform

  • Assess business impacts of technical decisions and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment with program objectives

  • Mentor and guide highly technical teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in electrophysics and RF technologies to inform architectural decisions

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrophysics engineering, with a focus on RF systems and advanced sensor integration

  • Proven experience in leading technical teams and projects, with a strong track record of successful system integration

  • In-depth knowledge of software, electrical, power, and cooling interfaces, as well as cosite and electromagnetic considerations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to evaluate business impacts of technical decisions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
