Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem Clinical Laboratory Technologist 3, Hematology & Urinalysis. The successful candidate will:

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Hematology and Chemistry Laboratories.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry. Specific familiarization with variant equipment.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on Chemistry and Hematology methodologies and instrumentation.

Required Qualifications:

• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or eligible for licensure. 
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent college credits in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASCP certification.
• 2 years of experience in Hematology/Chemistry.

Work Schedule:

Variable Days; Variable Hours (Hourly/Per Diem)

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-2

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
