Job Description

At Vuori, the Product & Portfolio Management function is responsible for the development and management of the organization’s portfolio of technology products and initiatives. We are a product-oriented team that puts our customers and end-users first, enabled by technology and data.  

As part of this team, the Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, communication, coordination, and delivery of a technology project. As an expert in the art and science of project management, the Project Manager is responsible for facilitating and driving the project to completion through its lifecycle, working with and motivating a cross-functional team of subject matter experts, analysts, technical leads, developers, designers, and other key stakeholders. They will be involved in high-level facilitation and low-level tasks based on the needs of the project and team makeup. 

The Project Manager is often the lead for our most visible and complex technology initiatives from customer-facing digital experiences to critical enterprise applications and data services that drive our business forward and strengthens our customer relationships.  

  • Define and drive the appropriate project management processes for owned projects and according to our standards.  
  • Support the definition of the business problem and primary objectives of new projects.  
  • Empathize with the relevant stakeholders: With the support of the project team, analyze and model the business domain to create a complete picture of workflows and technical requirements fulfilled by existing and proposed technology.  
  • Define and detail the scope of projects and establish communication channels to ensure that final deliverables meet the expectations of the stakeholders or end-users.  
  • Coordinate requirements walk-through and sign-offs, verifying with user representatives and stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs.  
  • Assist with the forecasting of internal resource capacity.  
  • Develops the project plan and schedule, with estimated costs, and manages the project resources and budget according to these.   
  • Control and communicate key elements of the project to ensure their delivery based on aligned scope, schedule, and budget plan or objectives.  
  • Oversee and manage external vendors and consultants contracted to support the project.  
  • Develop high-level dashboards, reports, and communication processes to ensure aligned information across the team and broader organization.  
  • Establish & maintain a strong relationship with the broader Technology area and business partners including local, remote, and regional staff, supporting ongoing adjustments to ways of working and collaboration methods.  
  • Advocate for continuous improvement across all ways of working.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.  
  • 3-5 years of experience managing technology projects while applying standard methodologies and delivery approaches, including frameworks outlined by PMI, AIPMM, Scrum Alliance, ICAgile, and others.  
  • Experience working in mainstream collaboration and work management tools like Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, Asana, Azure DevOps, etc and how to apply them practically based on the project needs.  
  • Experience and ability managing projects of varying sizes, complexities, and team structures.  
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize requirements and initiatives that achieve business objectives.  
  • Best-practice understanding in the areas of requirement gathering and validation, technical documentation, quality assurance and testing.  
  • Strong communicator and presenter that is comfortable working with all levels and areas of the organization including senior management, vendors, and consultants.  
  • An understanding of the relevant market landscape, leading and trending technologies, with experience conducting formal technology market scans and facilitating vendor RFI and RFP exercises.
