POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Director of CTE will work closely with the Executive Director and Supervising Director of Career and Technical Education to support and strengthen SCSD’s 40 high school CTE programs and all middle-level CTE across the district.
This role is deeply collaborative, engaging with school administrators, support staff, P-TECH programming, post-secondary institutions, and business and industry partners, to ensure high-quality programming that is compliant, and career-aligned programming.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Executive and Supervising Directors to lead strategic planning, program development, and continuous improvement across CTE.
- Support oversight of curriculum, staffing, and program implementation to meet NYS CTE requirements.
- Partner with high school administrators and support personnel to ensure smooth operation of CTE programs.
- Engage with postsecondary and industry partners to strengthen career pathways and dual enrollment opportunities.
- Assist in evaluating CTE staff, including Teachers on Special Assignment.
- Monitor grant expenditures and assist in budget preparation.
- Participate in district-wide initiatives aligned to the Strategic Plan.
- Attend occasional evening and weekend events to support CTE visibility and engagement with our community and programming.
QUALIFICATIONS
- New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) certification
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience; 3 years administrative experience preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and culturally relevant education (preferred)
- Exemplary attendance record
SALARY
- Salary and benefits per the Unit 2 contractual agreement. Starting salary: $129,960
