Data Management Technical Project Manager

The Opportunity: 

Booz Allen is seeking a Data Management Technical Project Manager for its data management, data integration, and business intelligence program. Through this program, our team builds and maintains a robust integrated data warehouse that contains data from many source systems as a means of consolidating, streamlining, and standardizing information to drive effective management decision-making. As part of this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across a large Federal organization on initiatives to drive strategy and improve enterprise reporting capabilities. Our data solutions evolve to meet emerging business priorities. You’ll have an opportunity to make a measurable and meaningful impact on the success of our firm.  

As a Data Management Technical Project Manager, you will leverage your expertise in stakeholder engagement and requirements engineering, as well as data management and IT project management, to achieve goals, analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and ensure successful delivery of data and business intelligence solutions to our clients. You will formalize, document, update, and revise user guides and materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other documentation relating to our data, dashboards, systems, and processes. You will serve as liaison between back-end and front-end developers and the clients, including verifying project status, facilitating solicitation sessions, and ensuring all requirements are met. This is a fast-paced role that requires critical thinking, creative solutions, and a can-do attitude when faced with challenges. You will be asked to organize a lot of knowledge across the program, including a diverse portfolio of projects and manage multiple workstreams (EPICS) at different stages of completion.

You Have: 

  • 5+ years of experience with program or project management

  • 5+ years of experience client-facing and with stakeholder management

  • 5+ years of experience with requirements engineering, including writing Agile User Stories, Test Plans, and Test Cases and performing UAT

  • 3+ years of experience with data management or data integration, including building reports and queries using Relational Databases, SQL, developing data flow diagrams, and reading data architecture documentation

  • 2+ years of experience with Business Intelligence (BI), including understanding of BI tools such as Esri ArcGIS, MS PowerBI, or Tableau

  • Experience with Agile frameworks, development of User Stories, documentation of business rules, and the use of Agile tools, including Atlassian Suite

  • Ability to convey complex, technical information in clear and concise ways to multiple audiences, including executive-level stakeholders

  • Ability to design and document business processes and provide clients with consulting on new business process

  • DHS Suitability

  • Bachelor’s degree

  

Nice If You Have: 

  • Knowledge of Human Capital, Asset Management, Financial Management, and Contracts Administration functional areas

  • Knowledge of data warehousing best practices, big data environments, or cloud technologies

  • Ability to use Microsoft SharePoint for project knowledge management support

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Information Systems, Business Administration, CS, Political Science, or Change Management

  • PMP or Agile Certification
