We are seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer for our GigaSMART team. The candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing security-related technologies. The candidate will work with cross-functional groups to contribute to product specifications, software architecture, and design. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment. What you’ll do:
- Help develop innovative network security solutions to expand Gigamon portfolio
- Design and develop high-performance multithreaded software applications on multicore processors
- Contribute to overall product requirements, architecture, and design
- Propose designs/solutions to meet requirements for new products
- Conduct feasibility analysis for proposed solutions
- Mentor junior engineers in software development, technology, and processes
- Minimum BSEE/CS with 10+ years of software development experience in networking software architecture and Design
- Hands-on experience in networking protocols especially TCP/IP, SSL/TL
- Proven experience with performance optimization techniques in multicore environments and profiling tools
- Demonstrable experience developing high performance networking applications using DPDK
- Experience in Firewalls, IDS, IPS, and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) techniques is a plus
- Experience developing system-level software in Linux development environment
- Expert in C/C++ coding
- Strong understanding of multicore architectures and programming techniques
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, load balancing, caching, and resource management
- Excellent written/oral communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a high-achieving team
