We are seeking a Facilities Engineer for our LaPorte, TX facility.
You will be a key member of the La Porte Facilities Team, which is responsible for all common sitewide infrastructure and activities including, but not limited to, utilities supplied to the operating units, security and site access, buildings, grounds, roadways, bulk tube trailer loading, chemical storage management, waste management and disposal, communication systems and logistics.
Additionally, this role will support the administration of the Site Emergency Response Plan and compliance with all applicable contracts and environmental permits as well as internal and external regulations.
This position will report to the La Porte Facilities Manager and will provide engineering support for all activities within the scope of the Facilities Team. The successful candidate will work closely with the La Porte Leadership Team, La Porte ASU/LHY and La Porte HyCO Production Engineers as well as regional engineering disciplines to resolve site issues in a timely manner while ensuring the facility meets its safety and reliability goals.

Required Skills / Abilities:
- A proven track record in driving continuous improvement through analytical reviews of complex systems
- Knowledge of RCA and FMEA with previous usage of these methodologies is a plus
- Strong plant operating experience in similar plants or operations of similar complexity
- A track record of success on Safety, Environmental, Quality and Employee engagement
- A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A self-starter with proven leadership abilities
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Focus on safety performance by effectively engaging our team and contractors in all aspects of our Basic Safety Processes
- Support of all aspects of day-to-day operations, including troubleshooting process issues, directly supporting daily site activities and leading sitewide projects
- Investigating worker safety, process safety, environmental and reliability incidents and near misses, understanding and correcting root causes of failures
- Implement and share best practices, train in their use, and learn from incidents and investigations
- Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) work processes for sitewide activities and facilities assets
- Identify maintenance concerns, develop, and implement corrective measures as well as following and carrying out site preventative maintenance and mechanical integrity programs
- Work with the Facilities Team to ensure all aspects of Operational Discipline are implemented and utilized
- Use and update P&IDs as well as sitewide procedures and documentation
- Understanding safe operating, design, permit limits; actively practice alarm management
- Familiarization with the process technology and chemistry of the facilities assets
- Lead strategic engineering initiatives for the La Porte facility
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred but not required
