R&D Research Assistant- Pilot Processing

The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Research Assistant to optimize our Biopharma / R&D organization. This Bridgewater, NJ on- site role is full-time.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Education: Highschool (AA preferred)

Required Experience: (1+ yrs)

• Basic mathematical and chemical handling skills
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions is required.
• Typing/ computer skills/ collaboration tools (IE: Microsoft Office)
• Ability to lift/ push up to 75 pounds
• Follow directions with emphasis on safety
• Shift priorities
• Use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements
• Utilize language skills (to include English)
• Reasoning ability

Preferred Experience:

• Warehouse systems
• Manufacturing

How you will thrive and create an impact:

Supporting all areas of Avantor R&D, the Research Assistant-R&D is responsible for hands-on execution of project activities from innovation project conception to completion.

• Maintaining equipment
• Expediting the movement of parts and material between production areas by listing or otherwise moving raw materials.
• Performing process operations such as buffer prep, filtration and chromatography using chemicals (both hazardous and non-hazardous)
• Following written batch process records or experimental plan.
• Operating process safely and efficiently under supervision of Process Engineers and Scientist
• Complying with company standards and OSHA requirements
• Maintaining equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
• Operating equipment safely and efficiently. Material: Receive and move materials to set process for production. Associates must report shortages, damages, and mis-shipments on appropriate forms
• Cleaning process containers and process/lab areas (cleanroom)
• Ensuring all documentation regarding cleanouts is filled.
• Keeping accurate records and reports
• Assisting in physical inventories and cycle counts
• Ensuring proper stock rotation
• Repacking or re-boxing cases per customer instructions
• Repairing/ consolidating damaged goods as required
• Operating shrink-wrap machine
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
