Operations Supervisor- Public Works/Street Division

All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.

Job Description:

The Public Works Street Division seeks a motivated and experienced supervisor to lead a team responsible for maintaining and improving our city’s streets and infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring work orders are completed efficiently, team members are supported and mentored, and communication flows effectively between management and other divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, lead, and mentor a team of employees in the traffic and concrete groups to ensure productivity, safety, and quality of work.

• Assign, track, and complete work orders, ensuring projects are completed on time and within standards.

• Collaborate with the Street Division Manager and other teams to coordinate work and resources.

• Maintain clear communication with employees, management, and stakeholders to ensure efficient operations.

• Provide training and support for team members, fostering professional growth and development.

• Monitor equipment, materials, and resources to ensure proper use and availability.

• Uphold safety and operational policies, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D) and two to five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.

Salary Range:

$23.72 - $31.02/hour
