Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

Intuitive is the pioneer in robotic surgery, designing and manufacturing complex systems for use with da Vinci and ION procedures. These systems employ a combination of reusable, single use surgical instruments and accessories for each surgical procedure.

We are looking for a candidate with a successful execution track record of managing programs with clinical studies and product development from project inception to launch. The candidate will work very closely with our clinical, product management, product development, Regulatory & Legal teams.

The Senior Project Manager orchestrates the activities of their project teams to deliver compelling business outcomes for Intuitive. The Sr. Project Manager must be highly organized and detail-oriented and interact fluidly and effectively with numerous individuals and departments at all levels of the organization. The Sr. Project Manager will have a close working relationship with a wide variety of functions relying on the nature of each project which will vary significantly.

Essential Job Duties

This role is responsible for driving complex product development efforts and design changes from conception to manufacturing stability and clinical studies as needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving a portfolio of product design projects
  • Manage execution of clinical studies both Pre & Post Market Studies
  • Ensure Design Control (510k) processes are followed per relevant procedures
  • Facilitate and ensure that complex, high-value Business Unit projects are properly scoped, resourced, and communicated to minimize risk, deliver on-time and on-budget
  • Develop and monitor project schedules and project budgets
  • Provide clear communication to the organization on accurate project status, critical path, as well as potential areas of risk
  • Work closely with Product Development, Clinical Affairs, Training, Product Management, Legal, Manufacturing, Marketing, Regulatory, and Quality organizations to ensure input and representation in the development process
  • Contribute to product prioritization actions by providing data and research from current and past projects
  • Provide feedback to team members regarding performance and requirements
  • Utilize corporate approved tools and implement them to empower and unencumber team members as they work to complete projects
  • Function as the primary point-of-contact for key people and partners across the organization

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 4 year degree or equivalent work experience in a scientific field
  • 8+ years of experience involved in the development and commercialization of medical technology
  • Excellent expertise of Pre market and Post market Clinical studies
  • Knowledgeable with all stages of clinical studies, product development lifecycle; including idea generation, concept development and testing, design, implementation, validation and transfer
  • Ability and past experience working with engineering, product strategy and business management
