Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility
At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.
We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design – where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. Because when you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.
Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we’re providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Head of Cost Engineering, to support the Supply Chain Organization in all vehicle manufacturing commodities. The Senior Manager will play a key role in providing product costs, process costs, tooling costs, and cost driver analysis. This will ensure accurate, plausible should cost for piece price and tooling.
You Will:
- Bring in depth technical knowledge and know-how of product processes and mechanics to drive should-be cost modelling.
- Lead, empower, and develop a team responsible for estimating the costs of projects, products, or services.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Engineering, Finance and Operations to provide defendable cost estimating support for existing, changing, and new parts for all Lucid Programs.
- Identify and build Cost Driver Models to assist in design and procurement activities. Develop and manage budgets for projects, ensuring that costs are controlled and aligned with financial objectives. This includes forecasting future costs based on historical data and market trends.
- Develop robust Cost Models to determine should costs across all commodities for both Greenfield and Brownfield scenarios.
- Promote and Support Design-to-Cost activities in early product development cycles.
- Develop defendable models for ground-up estimating of production tools.
- Collect and maintain key cost driver data including raw materials, labor rates, machine rates, process cost, and markups.
- Continuously review and improve cost estimation and management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This could involve implementing new tools or methodologies to streamline workflows.
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing insights into the financial implications of proposed projects or business decisions; conducting cost-benefit analyses and presenting findings to key decision-makers.
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, to provide updates on cost-related matters: presenting cost reports, variance analyses, and recommendations for corrective actions.
You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Finance discipline. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Costing of one or more of the following: Tooling, Interiors, Exteriors, Powertrain, Electronics, Injection Molding, Thermoforming, A-Surface Finishings, Assemblies, or Glazing.
- Expertise in Excel-based modeling that is understandable and defendable, building detailed benchmark and what-if models for piece cost, tooling, and ED&T.
- Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities.
- Ability to deep-dive costs from both a top-down and bottom-up approach.
- Ability to think strategically and communicate strategies effectively.
- Experience in the Automotive Industry (OEM or Tier 1 Suppliers).
- Experience working in a dynamic/start-up environment is a plus.
- Flexibility in work schedule is required (to include evenings and weekends, as needed).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. W
