JOB TITLE:
Research Technician JFNTMP DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:Zoology & Physiology
Job location: Laramie or Casper
Pay rate or range: $12/hr
JOB PURPOSE:
Assist graduate students and PI with data recently collected from the field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include reviewing camera trap data from bat roost sites, analyzing bat acoustic data, cleaning and organizing field gear, assisting with biological sample prep and shipping, creating outreach materials, and participating in the annual Bat ID lab (learning how to identify bats based on morphological measurements). The student will not handle any live bats but may have the opportunity to attend bat trapping activities. The student will work as a member of the Bernard Research Lab but may also be expected to work alone in the lab on occasion.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Majors Most-Related to the Position: Zoology, Botany, Biology, Ecosystem Science and Management, Natural Resources.
Experience: Undergraduate with at least one year of college experience
Other requirements: Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of Microsoft Excel, ability to learn various computer programs for analysis of data, ability to follow directions and work independently or in a group setting.
