At Recursion, we’re re-inventing the drug discovery process. Our Recursion OS platform and pioneering approach to Industrialized Drug Discovery Workflows enable us to rapidly and efficiently move chemical hypotheses through a series of phenomics, transcriptomics, and ADME experiments. We’re looking for a strategic, systems-thinking leader with a strong scientific background to optimize our processes, align company and portfolio priorities with experimental execution, and ensure that our innovative early discovery projects progress seamlessly.

In this role, you will:

• Develop, refine, and continuously improve our Industrialized Workflows. Integrate and streamline processes across phenomics, transcriptomics, and ADMET platforms to maximize throughput and minimize bottlenecks.
• Partner with data scientists, chemists, biologists, automation specialists, product managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth and coordinated execution of complex projects. Serve as the operational bridge between scientific innovation and process execution.
• Work with senior leaders across the company to incorporate strategic company and portfolio priorities into the sequencing and scheduling of workflow data production. Proactively identify and resolve potential delays or process inefficiencies to keep projects on track.
• Deploy and manage advanced project management tools, performance metrics, and reporting systems. Use data-driven insights to forecast resource needs, manage bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across the platform.
• Clearly communicate operational performance, process improvements, and project milestones with internal teams and external partners. Ensure transparency and alignment at all levels of the organization.

The Team You’ll Join 

This role will report into the VP of Business Operations and be further supported by the entire Business Operations group at Recursion. This group is responsible for project and program management, strategic planning, corporate goals/priorities, org design, corporate data and analytics, operational/administrative support, and other corporate initiatives. In addition, you’ll work closely with key stakeholders from data science, product management, technical operations, portfolio/commercial strategy, and other groups across Recursion. 

The Experience You’ll Need

• An advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in life sciences, chemistry, bioengineering, or a related field, with hands-on experience in early stage drug discovery programs.
• 5+ years of experience in operations or program management within techbio, pharmaceutical, or early drug discovery settings, demonstrating a track record of process optimization and systems thinking. Experience with SQL (or similar) is a plus.
• Adept at aligning diverse teams and projects with overarching strategic priorities, you excel in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Your ability to communicate complex operational insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is unparalleled.
• A passion for building and optimizing processes that drive efficiency and impact. Experience with high-throughput experimentation and industrialized drug discovery processes is a significant plus.
• You’re experienced in implementing project management methodologies and operational tools that facilitate real-time tracking, forecasting, and decision-making.

Working Location:

This position is based at our office located in Salt Lake City. Please note that we are a hybrid environment and ask that employees spend 50% of their time in the office.At Recursion, we believe that every employee should be compensated fairly. Based on the skill and level of experience required for this role, the estimated current annual base range for this role is:

• Developing: $180,000
• Skilled: $200,000
• Expert: $220,000
