$231,000.00 - $299,000.00

What’s the role?

Etsy is hiring a Senior Director of Strategy & Operations to develop and evangelize our corporate strategy. This position will be responsible for running a team whose mission is to: catalyze and fortify Etsy's long-term strategy, steward our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) forum, and provide vital operational services and programs to the Organizations of our CLO, CFO and CHRO, whose teams support the full Etsy, Inc enterprise. This role is a people manager position.

In the long-term company strategy and SLT space, this role will run our long-term corporate strategy process, including communicating key insights and initiatives from it to our ET, SLT, Board and all employees. Capacity permitting, they will also manage their own research projects that connect to our corporate strategy.

In the G&A space, this role is responsible for making their team greater than the sum of its parts, helping each team member identify their top priorities, while also spotting opportunities for cross-team collaboration and efficiency gains.

An ideal candidate will be defined by their track-record in strategy development and change management. They should embody curiosity, stamina, discretion and leadership. They are deeply passionate about historical and emergent trends in business strategy, macro trends in economics, politics and society, and management philosophy, and organizational psychology. They practice the belief that they can get from good to great by including others in their problem-solving. This enables them to be effective and valued in a range of contexts, and ultimately help advance Etsy to a new level of business performance, organizational brilliance, and marketplace creativity.

This is a full-time position reporting to our Head of Strategy & Operations. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States.Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Partners with the Head of Strategy & Operations and the ET to drive our LCS process to unearth insights that propel Etsy into the future and sharpen what differentiates us

• Leads specific projects that can help advance Etsy’s LCS that culminate in an investment recommendation

• Drives the communication of our LCS to key audiences, e.g. SLT, all employees, Board, Investors, all in partnership with leaders from Comms and Investor Relations

• Stewards the ongoing engagement and programming of the SLT forum, including new member onboarding, live events, and information-sharing

• Partners with Finance to run strategic and financial planning, helping the company make wise investment decisions

• Partners with Finance to produce our CEO Metrics report and the meeting that complements it to drive reflection and iteration across the company

• Supports their team in choosing and delivering impactful services, programs and projects within the CLO, CHRO, CFO Orgs. Soliciting feedback on their work product to ensure they're tackling what matters
