Position Overview

The Senior Principal Software Engineer supports the development and ongoing maintenance of Adaptive Immune Medicine’s external and internal facing applications. The Senior Principal Software Engineer will also work closely with other software engineers, computational biology team members, program and product management, and R&D lab leads, helping to design and then implement software solutions integral to Immune Medicine’s current & future engineering roadmaps. The Senior Principal Software Engineer will serve as a technical lead in both architectural design and implementation.  Selects new technologies, develops system level architecture, and guides larger technical subprojects. Can take technical leadership roles as well as implement significant portions of new software systems.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Selects technologies and technical approaches for development of new systems or significant modifications and enhancements to existing systems.
• Develops architecture, data flow, and interfaces for stand-alone systems or systems with significant complexity and interaction requirements.
• Responsible for long term technical roadmap for architectures, implementations, and interactions for complex and/or stand-alone business systems
• Actively mentors other developers within Immune Medicine
• Accountable for ensuring that the Adaptive Immune Medicine SDLC is both efficient and compliant with applicable international (IVDD/IVDR), Federal (21CFR), and other applicable regulations where applicable.
• Maintains quality processes such as assisting in Nonconformance and CA/PA investigations and actions.

Position Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science
• 15+ years of relevant experience, e.g. creating and maintaining complex software using modern methodologies.
• Extensive experience with Python and at least one strongly typed object-oriented language such as Java or C#
• Experience with relational databases, e.g. Postgres or MSSQL
• Experience with web services, RESTful APIs
• Prior work with IVDs, molecular diagnostics, PCR-based assays, sequencing technologies and/or CLIA laboratories

Working Conditions

Like our other software engineering jobs, this position requires a flexible schedule.

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $188,000 - $282,000

Possible “other compensation” elements to include:

• equity grant
• bonus eligible

Adaptive’s posted compensation information includes a base salary (or hourly rate) range and summary of other available total compensation. The base salary range represents a minimum-to-maximum salary (or hourly rate) available to candidates upon extension of offer. Base salary is thoughtfully considered upon offer and is determined through multiple evaluation checks throughout the interview process, including: a candidate’s ability to meet minimum qualifications (skills/experience/education), a candidate’s ability to thoughtfully address preferred qualifications, current market conditions, and internal pay equity. Listed base salary is exclusive of bonus, commission, equity, differential pay, benefits, and other incentives.
