Research Director, Cyber

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Research Director-Cyber Security.  In this role, you will work highly experienced cybersecurity research R&D teams to research, develop and operationalize new capabilities for National Security missions.  You will lead our engagements with highly technical research sponsors at DARPA, IARPA, and the National Labs to foster a portfolio of mission relevant R&D while drawing upon our ongoing operational expertise for missions Two Six supports.  

Responsibilities:

• Lead Research Sponsor Engagement at DARPA, IARPA, National Labs, and other research sponsoring organizations.  Foster relationships with relevant research sponsors, ideating new and innovative approaches to hard, cyber mission problems. 
• Set technical direction and conduct technical oversight for a portfolio of Cyber Security R&D projects
• Line management of team members and identifying/hiring new team members.  Mentor junior technical staff.
• Identifying and leading the capture of new R&D programs
• Participating in and leading proposal generation and delivery

Requirements:

• A four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in cyber security, software engineering, or related technical domain
• Ten or more years conducting research in cybersecurity topics or related fields
• A strong foundational knowledge of offensive and defensive cyber security operations, with emphasis on at least one of the following: vulnerability research, reverse engineering, cyber capability development, or cyber systems engineering
• Past performance as a Principal Investigator on fast-paced, innovation-driven, advanced technology R&D projects for Government clients
• Five or more years experience leading scientists and engineers executing research projects
• TS/SCI eligible

Nice to have:

• An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related technical domain
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals or industry publications on relevant research
• Experience with agile software development practices
• Experience developing security solutions and products
• Proven experience leading a rapidly growing team
• Experience as a Principal Investigator for a DARPA program

Clearance/Citizenship:

• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance are required up to TS/SCI and poly
