Job Summary

Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team in coordinating research activities that may include conducting a variety of routine experiments with established methodologies, data collection and management, and other research activities as assigned.

Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Responsible for data collection, management, manipulation, analysis, and reporting. <br>
-Study cohort management. <br>
-Outreach communication with subjects, conducting mailings, follow-up on mailings, and obtaining necessary documents. <br>
-Provides assistance on work related to epidemiological studies and other population-based research. <br>

Bachelor's Degree Science required

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Research Assistant will work with the Principal Investigator and other staff to assist with laboratory-based research focused on understanding mechanisms of the metabolic pathogenesis of mTOR-driven tumors.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The technician will assist with experiments that will include cell culture, immunoblotting, radioisotope and cold isotope labeling of lipid metabolism, invasion and migration, RNA seq analysis, and animal studies including inoculation of cells, small animal imaging, and dietary modifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or BS in a related field. Experience with noncoding RNA biology, animal handling and data analysis is appreciated. Dedication, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a highly collaborative and interactive environment.
