Accounting Associate

Title: Accounting Associate 

Location: Viriginia Beach, VA - Onsite 3 days a week 

General Description: 

The Accounting Associate will support the Finance team in processing transactions, updating the general ledger, and aiding the team in meeting deadlines and producing deliverables in a timely, efficient manner. 

Essential Functions: 

• Process and log incoming donations (includes physical deposit of cash)  
• Upload and organize supporting documentation for donor-restricted contributions. 
• Create and post routine and non-routine general ledger entries, such as recording monthly and daily payment processing fees. 
• Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for employees and other receivables  
• Assist with Month-End and Year-End closings, as necessary. 
• Flexibility is required.  Additional duties assigned as necessary. 

Requirements

 Experience Required (work and education levels): 

• High school diploma or associate degree in accounting or similar discipline, preferred 
• Two years of work experience in an accounting department preferred 
• Proficient knowledge of Excel
