The Texas Behavioral Health Center is a newly completed state-funded psychiatric hospital opening in Dallas’ Southwestern Medical District through a partnership between UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). When fully operational, the 505,000-square-foot facility will house 292 beds – 200 for adult patients and 92 for children and adolescents. As DFW’s first state-funded behavioral health hospital, it is designed to deliver state-of-the-art, patient-centered care in a modern and healing environment.
The center provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment and features private patient rooms, abundant access to natural light and nature, and thoughtfully designed spaces that promote recovery. The hospital will also provide training to all behavioral health disciplines. JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Behavioral Health Accreditation is a key member of the hospital's leadership team, responsible for ensuring continuous compliance with all applicable behavioral health accreditation standards, licensing requirements, and regulatory frameworks. This role leads strategic initiatives to maintain survey readiness, drive quality improvement, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence in patient care.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, or a related field
- Experience
5 years of experience in healthcare accreditation, regulatory affairs, or quality management, preferably in behavioral health
Deep knowledge of TJC Behavioral Health Care & Human Services standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, and state licensing regulations
Preferred
- Education
Master's Degree in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, or a related field
- Licenses and Certifications
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), accreditation (HACP), or quality (CPHQ) is preferred
JOB DUTIES
- Leads hospital-wide accreditation initiatives in partnership with senior leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Manages all aspects of accreditation and regulatory readiness, serving as the primary liaison to accrediting bodies and overseeing survey preparation, execution, and follow-up.
