DESCRIPTION:
The duties and responsibilities of the Deputy Clerk I include the performance of duties related to a Judicial Clerk.
NOTE: Applicant must be able to answer multi-line phones, be able to lift 30 pounds, must have a valid Florida driver’s license and have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Shepherds any Appeals received by the Division throughout the entire process. This includes tracking, filing, and preparing documents for the District Court of Appeal’s review.
- Handles an internal automated document process used by judges and judicial assistants which must be completed timely and great attention to detail.
- May receive and log all funds hand-delivered to the Clerk's Office.
- May perform inside and outside mail run throughout the Division, Office of Judges of Compensation Claims office, and to select facilities outside the Division at scheduled intervals.
- Processes Orders Administrative Law Judges issue daily, by copying, folding, and adding the appropriate amount of postage to each envelope and package.
- Handles various types of calls, some of which may be emergent.
- Scans filings that have been mailed or hand-delivered and uploads them to the Case Management System
- Processes final orders as filed with the Division.
- Verifies address/billing on hand-deliveries.
- Notifies Staff Assistant if special instructions are given at time of pleading filing.
- Reviews closed case pleadings on docket, confirms that all pdf files are viewable; confirms all pleadings in file have been scann
