What We Need:
Obagi is seeking a strategic MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) Senior Buyer to support the end-to-end procurement process of raw materials and injectables. Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, the senior buyer will be responsible for identifying suppliers, price negotiations, and all tasks related to purchase orders.
What You’ll Do:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Track relevant KPIs and evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, service, and delivery standards
- Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, cost reduction, and contract improvements
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation including supplier qualifications, contracts, risk assessments, etc.
- Participate in vendor audits, RFQs, RFPs, and supplier scorecard programs
- Streamline procurement processes and reduce inefficiencies
- Support sustainability, safety, and compliance initiatives
- Research and analyze market trends and pricing to support strategic sourcing decisions and mitigate risk
- Manage PO for injectable business
- Adhering to finance targets and budget constraints, monitor, track, and manage all POs
- Partner with planning and finance to generate expense POs
- Oversee negotiations for pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms, ensuring supplier continuity and cost optimization
- Serve as the primary POC for any supplier issues, delays, and resolutions
- Other responsibilities as necessary are assigned by the manager
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required with a focus in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration or related field
- At least 5+ years of procurement experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
- Prior experience sourcing FG injectables required
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization/time management skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable operating in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; someone who thrives in ambiguity and adapts quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other technologies:
- Prior experience with Visio, Power BI, or MS Project Manager, highly preferred
