Job Description

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Remediation Project Manager to join our Remediation team in Orlando, FL.  You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services.

As an Environmental Remediation Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing environmental remediation projects. This includes managing project teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering projects within scope, budget, and schedule.

AECOM’s Remediation, Restoration and Redevelopment Practice delivers innovative and often complex solutions to meet our clients’ objectives. Because we address many different impacted sites – from munitions to PFAS to algae blooms and beyond – every project in our global practice is different.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

• Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction. 
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
• Conducts research and does investigation work as required. 
• Plans and organizes project studies. 
• Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures. 
• Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems. 
• May oversee the work of less experienced scientists

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid US Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and safely drive a full-size pickup truck.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% for fieldwork.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of experience in environmental consulting, including field-sampling procedures (groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging, etc.), soil boring/monitoring well installations, analytical data interpretation and reporting.
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
  • Experience with sediment remedial investigations
  • Proficient with data analysis, modeling, and visualization using Earth Volumetric Studio (EVS), geographic information systems, database systems, and numeric computing environments
  • Proficient with independent task management and tracking towards project management
  • Ability to understand and supervise advancement of soil borings and installation of monitoring wells
  • Proficient in writing technical reports (remedial investigations, corrective action studies, etc.).
  • Technical skills including Database, GIS, CAD, visualization software skills are preferred
  • OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training
  • Experience in the collection and evaluation of environmental data in field and office settings.
  • Project management experience along with strong knowledge of environmental regulations
  • Familiarity with environmental assessment techniques and remediation technologies.
