Position Overview - Military Maintenance Engineer
The Department of Military Affairs is looking to hire a Military Maintenance Engineer located out of the Sparta Training Site and Armory. This position under general direction of the Deputy Director/CFMO, supervises the maintenance staff. This position is accountable for the maintenance of the building and grounds, repair, and the operation of electronic target systems, with responsibility for allocation of supplies, accountability of state and federal property within confines of the training area. Will ensure the safety and compatibility of personnel, buildings, and equipment. Ensure environmental plans are followed and construction thereof that complement the training area, roadways, and adjacent land use. The Department of Military Affairs works with the members of the Illinois Air and Army National Guard. We welcome all interested applicants to apply.
Essential Functions

Supervises and directs the production of the laborer and building and grounds maintenance personnel as well as their assigned projects, functions, and work assignments within their daily operations.

Supervises, inspects, and maintains a full preventative maintenance program for the facility including, but not limited to, HVAC systems, electronic targeting systems, plumbing and electrical systems, as well as all assigned tools and equipment.

Performs a variety of skilled building preventative maintenance tasks to doors, windows, roofs, and other building components, performs minor plumbing repairs.
