This position will create and execute a strategic and integrated development plan to deepen relationships and build philanthropic support for patient care, education, and research at VUMC from the sports and entertainment industries. These industries are comprised of but not limited to professional athletes, coaches, agents, managers, artists, performers, writers, composers, and producers. This position will report to the Senior Vice President for Development. Supporting relationships will be established and maintained with many internal colleagues in the development team and across VUMC..

Position Summary:
This position will create and execute a strategic and integrated development plan to deepen relationships and build philanthropic support for patient care, education, and research at VUMC from the sports and entertainment industries. These industries are comprised of but not limited to professional athletes, coaches, agents, managers, artists, performers, writers, composers, and producers. This position will report to the Senior Vice President for Development. Supporting relationships will be established and maintained with many internal colleagues in the development team and across VUMC.
Responsibilities:
- Raising awareness of the VUMC mission and deepening relationships within the sports and entertainment industries.
- Developing and implementing a plan to secure philanthropic support for VUMC from these constituents.
- Working closely with VUMC development officers and operations team to:
- develop giving opportunities that align with the philanthropic needs of the medical center.
- identify leads, cultivate, and request support in partnership with development officers.
- match entertainment industry celebrity causes and interests with VUMC priorities.
- Stewarding and recognizing sports and entertainment gifts and partnerships.
- Coordinating the engagement efforts with this industry and ensuring the representation and tracking of these relationships in the constituent relationship management (CRM) database.
- Following VUMC guidelines and policies in the execution of entertainment industry activities/events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Traveling nights and weekends as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) (Required)
- 7-8 years of experience (Required)

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry or related field preferably in the Nashville market with demonstrated ability in relationship management, or any combination of education, skills, and abi
