RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, validate and clarify business requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of needs and expectations
  • Methodically identify, document, and prioritize business requirements through comprehensive analysis and stakeholder engagement to support informed decision-making and project planning.
  • Evaluate the potential impact of proposed process changes, analyzing how modifications may affect existing operations and systems, while offering mitigation strategies
  • Document and create clear and comprehensive business process flows and detailed requirements, ensuring transparency and traceability throughout project lifecycles
  • Ensure that business requirements are translated into actionable solutions that align with organizational goals, leveraging expertise to bridge the gap between needs and implementable solutions
  • Offer comprehensive technical support in handling complex processes, structural elements,  systems, applications, software, and various technical elements. Develop technical documentation while interfacing with users, providing necessary support and training as required
  • Apply suitable methodologies and tools for the completion of tasks, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and requirements pertinent to specific assignments.
  • Performs and/or leads project planning, scope, control, management, tracking, or review activities.
  • Support includes, but is not limited to, elements such as: research, studies, requirements/specifications definition, analysis, assessments, planning, acquisition, design, development, integration, overseeing, manufacture, construction, testing, installation, performance tuning, operation, deployment, or maintenance.
  • Interfaces with users at all levels during the support process.
  • Performs and/or leads technical document development/preparation.
  • Uses applicable methodologies, modeling/estimating techniques, tools, applications, systems, software, or databases at advanced levels to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ensures compliance with, and/or may develop, the standards and organization requirements relative to specific assignments.
  • May supervise or manage tasks/projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eight years of experience solving computer, business, scientific, engineering, policy/compliance or other discipline system/process problems.
  • Has command of commonly used information technology concepts, practices, and procedures within GIS.
  • Works independently at the direction of supervisors.
  • Expertise with Government or industry processes, procedures, standards, methodologies, or tools related to GIS.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, Physics, Engineering or other applicable discipline.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully analyzing data, gathering requirements, and providing valuable insights and solutions to support business decision-making.
  • Competence in using various data analysis tools, such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or other relevant software
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, articulate complex information to diverse stakeholders, and present findings in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, facilitate discussions, and negotiate requirements among various teams

Overview

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our team supporting DOI BSEE TIMS contract in New Orleans, LA.

 

BOEM and BSEE are responsible for managing the nation’s offshore energy, minerals, and natural resources on the Federal Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). BSEE promotes safety, protects the environment, and conserves resources offshore through vigorous regulatory oversight and enforcement. BOEM manages the responsible exploration and development of offshore energy and marine mineral resources on the OCS. OCS production accounts for about 18 percent of domestic crude oil and four percent of domestic natural gas supply.
