Job Description

The Facilities Manager will lead the overall facilities management, supporting the production and administration within the building. They will ensure that the site's critical systems are operational 24/7 through regular inspection and maintenance.   The Facilities Manager will oversee the safety and general maintenance activities at the site to maintain a safe and pleasant working environment for all employees and visitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve 100% uptime of site critical systems and equipment. Critical systems and equipment include but are not limited to: Power/UPS, Back-up generator, Fuel supply, HVAC (Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning), BMS, Plumbing/Water supply, Fire safety systems and equipment.
  • Lead the local EHS program and ensure that all emergency systems are tested regularly.
  • Manage regulatory inspection programs and processes.
  • Schedule and oversee facility preventative maintenance, testing, and operations programs.
  • Coordinate all OSHA requirements, submissions, and postings.
  • Manage of EPA inventory (hazardous chemicals) including submission of proper documentation.
  • Manage of broadcast tower, including coordination for client site visits and ensuring tower climbers are licensed and approved.
  • Provide and review status updates and operating metrics with management to identify trends and/or operating issues.
  • Respond promptly to facility issues and requests reported by the staff.
  • Partner with the engineering team on projects and necessary impactful work that could be delayed with broadcasts.
  • Partner with management and finance to evaluate and negotiate budgets and proposals from third party vendors.
  • Oversee and manage all facilities and building service vendor relationships. (landscaping, janitorial, cate services, etc.)
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

 

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in facilities management or related field
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent amount of experience in related field
  • Knowledge of facilities management principles and techniques
  • Strong understanding and experience with common building systems and building management systems (BMS) for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Security, Fire Protection, Irrigation Systems

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be willing to work in Washington D.C.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Able to work weekends, nights, holidays, and on call as needed
  • Must be 18 years or older

Desired Characteristics:

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, manage time efficiently, and meet tight deadlines
  • Customer service oriented, follow up skills a must
  • Experience supporting broadcast or IT data, mission critical facilities
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • AutoCad experience a plus
  • Experience evaluating facil
