Cruise is seeking an experienced Staff Technical Program Manager to join our HW TPM team. You will deliver on major business-critical programs as the lead TPM from the AV Hardware organization for the next-generation of Cruise’s flagship vehicle. You will be working cross-functionally throughout the company to translate business needs into technical roadmaps and execute against those plans. This role is at the intersection of hardware, software, and AV technology, as well as the intersection of engineering and operations.
What you’ll be doing:
Planning

Build plans and tracking structures based on cross-functional individual team plans, for reporting and communication across the organization

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and capture risks and to develop risk-mitigation strategies
Execution

Ensure smooth execution of programs and continuously improve execution over time

Promote effective communication within the TPM group to implement, filter, summarize reporting across the department to resolve, call out issues and celebrate wins

Present status and overall plans to leadership teams

Maintain and expand on current processes to support current efforts and expand to new initiatives and teams
Technical
-
Use technical judgment in working with large, cross engineering teams

Work with Technical Leads on design decisions, and contribute to the department design reviews to ensure we continue to raise our technical standards
What you must have:

Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, or similar technical field (former engineer) and 6+ years of technical program management experience

Program Management experience, including program launch leadership, in an automotive and manufacturing environment

Some experience with autonomous vehicle systems

Track record of driving hardware and embedded software execution across engineering org and job functions

Detailed-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Consistent track record communicating effectively from individual contributors to executive leadership

Effective at building consensus across different functions (HW, System, Test, SW)

Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities

The salary range for this position is $170,000 - 250,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
