Department Overview
At PG&E, the Data and Analytics organization is focused on unlocking the value of PG&E’s data to support the company’s Wildfire Safety Program and the broader company’s True North Strategy. As part of that focus, we concentrate on delivering data and AI/ML centric products to support these initiatives. Some of the products that are being delivered include Remote Inspections, AI Enabled Inspections, Vegetation Management through LiDAR capabilities, Transmission Line Asset Data Foundation, Electric Distribution Asset Data Foundation, Asset Risk Modeling, and a Cloud Native Foundational Platform. A critical part of how we operate is to apply design thinking, work and observe the Agile development methodology, and co-location. Through these principles, we work as product teams to help deliver a valuable product to our business.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Manager, Analytics Product Program Management for the Data & Analytics Team. In this role, you will lead an organization of Product Owners and Scrum Masters focused on program increment planning, feature, and backlog management, and driving a collaborative agile environment for the delivery teams. You and your team will partner closely with domain centric Product Managers and a team of delivery resources to bring a broad and diverse portfolio of data and AI/ML centric products to life.
The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office 1-3x weekly or as business needs require.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry to middle point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000
Job Responsibilities
Analytic Product Program Management
- Lead Product Owners to oversee analytic program management resources responsible for project management, product backlog management, and sprint planning
Agile Coaching
- Lead Scrum Master resources providing Agile coaching and oversight to Product teams
- Support the development of products by ensuring product teams follow Agile development methodologies
- Manage and facilitate feature prioritization for PI planning (e.g., workshops and sprint retros)*
- Own the effort to establish and maintain the target agile culture
- Establish KPIs to track agile performance
- Identify areas for continuous operational improvement opportunities
Qualifications
Minimum:
- B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering, or other relevant field required
- 8 or more years of experience in programming/systems analysis, project management, and/or IT strategy planning or other related area required
Desired:
- M.S. or M.B.A. degree in business administration, data science, or computer science preferred
- PMP or other project management certification, preferred
- Experience working in an Agile environment; Certification in leading Agile would be desired or achieved within 1 year
- Demonstrated analytics solution build expertise, project management skills, strong business consulting acumen in applying advanced analytics to solve business issues, and knowledge of business operational, process, delivery, and revenue models
- Cross-domain and cross-functional knowledge that will enable design of the best possible technology capabilities
- Leadership through influence rather than organization structures. Proven ability to motivate, lead, and collaborate within the product team, including in cross-functional product development teams
- Be familiar with business pains and gains to clearly express product value
