JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Surgery is hiring a Manager, Education Programs.

This position will manage the Surgery Education Office, working directly with Program Directors, the GME office and overseeing Surgery education coordinators for the resident, clerkship and fellowship programs in the Department of Surgery. This position will be responsible for all aspects of university and hospital appointments and reappointments of residents and fellows and will coordinate the direction of educational programming and communication department wide

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

• Education
  Bachelor's Degree 
   

• Experience
  7 years of related experience to include at least and 
  2 years in a supervisory capacity. 
  Applicants without the stated preferred degree, but with significant additional related experience may be considered. 

• Preferred Experience

• 7 years of related experience to include at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

•  Proven ability to lead employee development and improve performance over time

• Skilled in redesigning business processes for continuous improvement

• Effective management of multiple short- and long-term projects with competing priorities

• Strong oral and written communication skills; comfortable working with senior faculty

• Experience with education systems such as MedHub, ERAS, E‑Value, and NRMP preferred

• Working knowledge of higher education regulations, including ACGME, RRC, and ACOG

JOB DUTIES

• Directs administrative strategies, and develops and implements systems to enhance the operations of local and national education programs. Must be accountable for all three education areas (UME, GME, CME) and manage a staff of at least 6 (direct and indirect).
