Job Summary:

The University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology is recruiting for a full time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for the Pediatric Radiation Oncology Section. The section is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinical care providers and researchers who care for pediatric patients with cancer.  These patients receive most of their care at Colorado Children’s Hospital and receive radiation therapy at the University of Colorado Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Care for pediatric patients requiring radiation therapy for a variety of malignant and occasional benign conditions

  • New patient consultations in collaboration with the attending physician

  • Patient and family education about the process of radiation therapy and potential side effects

  • Assessment of patients’, and their families’, clinical and psychosocial needs

  • Multi-disciplinary care coordination with colleagues on oncology, surgery, anesthesiology, and child life specialist teams

  • Management of side effects related to radiation treatment

  • Participation in chart rounds and tumor boards

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.
