Senior Accountant

What does a successful Senior Accountant do at Fiserv? 

You will assist with company-wide oversight and direction over internal financial policies and U.S. GAAP technical accounting and reporting matters for a publicly traded, Fortune 500 company. You will identify potential control weaknesses and suggest solutions to strengthen controls, and function as a liaison between Accounting and Operations. 

What you will do: 

• Perform analysis and technical accounting research related to acquisitions, dispositions, revenue recognition, leasing activities, debt offerings, derivatives, stock-based compensation, segment reporting, cash flows and other financial accounting and reporting matters that may arise. 

• Complete monthly journal entries, research and resolve reconciling items timely 

• Analyze various financial reports and prepare variance analysis when needed. 

• Participate in cross-functional projects as subject matter expert to support business, regulatory, and other operational changes. 

What you will need to have:  

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field 

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or an equivalent combination of educational background, related work experience, and/or military experience 

• 3+ years experience in general ledger accounting and month-end close or audit experience of those tasks

• 3+ years experience with balance sheet reconciliation

What would be great to have: 

• MBA Degree  

• CPA License  

• Automated accounting systems, such as SAP  

• SAP experience and/or advanced Microsoft Excel skills
