The Role:
Goddard is seeking an experienced Project Manager, with a background in product development to join our growing team. In this role you will interface with the Goddard team as well as the client, managing client relationships and team members to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction and project success. You will lead engineering projects, help establish the Seattle office and collaborate with business development to secure new clients. The successful candidate will have exceptional project and people management skills, technical expertise, and excellent communication abilities. The Senior Project Manager role is a hybrid position in the Greater Seattle area with frequent travel to client sites.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver profitable project outcomes through effective project management by owning the project’s vision, tracking budget and project progress, and maintaining a strong and open relationship with the client.
- Coordinate all aspects of program activities between the client and Goddard engineering, industrial design, quality, testing, documentation, etc.
- Generate dashboards, reports, and presentations to deliver to internal management or clients.
- Provide informed, detailed guidance to clients looking for Goddard’s leadership and experience in product development.
- Communicate clearly with the client and empower them with data to help them make confident, informed decisions throughout the product development process.
- Define project structure for time entry, identify methods of capturing out of scope or other cost overruns, present weekly updates on projects, identify necessary resource adjustments, and update the Goddard ERP system.
- Motivate and manage project leads as well as the team dynamic. Generate schedules, tasks, and assign work to the team.
- Work with functional management to identify resources and coordinate project kickoff meetings with all relevant stakeholders.
- Track and maintain project tasks/objectives to ensure the project is progressing as expected.
- Identify new business opportunities with new and existing clients. Work with the client to understand, refine, and agree on new project requirements.
- Support new business/client proposal creation (PAC Lead). Rapidly come up to speed on the project based on RFP documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Goddard’s Quality Management System, as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with 4+ years leading product development teams. PMP certification a plus.
- 4+ years managing and building engineering teams.
- A thorough understanding of the end-to-end product development process.
- Ability to discern and understand client’s product and business needs.
- Excellent communication (written as well as verbal), collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the client, technical team, and business development team.
