About the role

What you will do

Supervise and work along with a team of Security Integrated System Engineers and Designers to perform hardware and software engineering/programming and network level commissioning for Integrated Security applications. Ensures work performed complies with state, local and federal legal, Cybersecurity requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics.

Employs practices and develops processes to ensure cost effective engineering while providing consistent delivery and customer satisfaction. Serves as the Regional expert in application engineering. Works effectively with Project Owners, Security Installation and Project Managers and Systems Team Leaders.

How you will do it

  • Manage and schedules the workload of the Integrated Security Engineering Team. Use the workable labor hours daily tool to manage DFL requirements.
  • Prioritizes work with Installation and Project Managers to insure progress and timely completion of the engineering deliverables.
  • Provides timeframe estimates to sales and project management for job cost evaluation.
  • Develops, implements, monitors and communicates the Security Integrated Engineering team processes, strategies, team schedule and standards.
  • Provides engineering cost estimates during project development phases, change orders.
  • Seeks out new and creative applications and operational techniques. Implements improvements in the processes, facilities, tools and equipment to improve quality, reliability, productivity, and to provide leading edge technology.
  • Serves as the Area expert in application engineering.
  • Leads a team of Integrated Security Engineers and Designers to select controllers and end devices that will meet the specifications and minimize the total cost of installation to ensure that the project cost comes in below estimate.
  • Ensures that the delivery re-estimate process is followed on all projects.
  • Develops and maintains viable relationships with customers, consulting engineers and architect engineers.
  • Leverages these relationships as needed during project development and execution.
  • Performs engineering and supports network commissioning as required on assigned projects.
  • Hires, retains, mentors, performance manages, and plans for career development of direct reports.
  • Prepares and delivers clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans for direct reports.
  • Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or with a minimum of eight years of experience in Application engineering.
  • Prior experience in supervision and or field support of technical / engineering group.
  • Recognized as a leading expert in several core Integrated Security Engineering competencies.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, especially in presentation of technical material.
