What To Expect:
The Field Technician is responsible for operational, mechanical, and instrument/electrical functions, such as inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This work includes such activities as supervising/directing field crews, maintaining pipelines in compliance with contracts, regulations, and safety considerations, coordinating with on-site contractors, and ensuring cost effective and safe operations. Employee(s) in this position may have some environmental or safety activities associated with their responsibilities.The Field Technician will report to our office in Odessa, TX.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair of end devices and electrical equipment.
  • Conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory), operation of natural gas liquid pump and meter stations (to include mainline valves).
  • Conducts pipeline pigging, filter changes, and I LI tool runs, etc.
  • Responsible for Startup, Shutdown, and operating NGL equipment.
  • Performing and providing technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment.
  • Performing planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submits appropriate reports.
  • Reading and understanding P&ID's
  • Maintaining l&E skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training.
  • Maintains pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation, exposures.
  • Maintains One-Call - Pipeline Locating, encroachment, excavation & crossing.
  • Maintains records in accordance with Pipeline regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts routine inspection, calibration and repair of meter and associated equipment (measurement meter, ultrasonic meter, flow computer)
  • Assist with pulling composite samples and proving measurement meters.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, etc.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.
  • Conducts routine inspection, such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, etc.
  • Operate PLC, HMI equipment, software, pipeline valves and actuators.
  • Maintain and repair motor control equipment.

 

What You’ll Bring – Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with Pipeline maintenance or operation, l&E, and mechanical pump experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Currently live or be willing to relocate within 35 miles of the reporting locations.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Willing and able to with or without reasonable accommodations: 
    • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
    • Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds. 
    • Occasionally climb A-frame ladders, including heights up to 45 feet for tank service.
    • Regularly stoops, squats, kneels, and crouches for durations up to 30 minutes, 
    • Works extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, 
    • Works safely near large, hot, high-speed machines.

 

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred:

  • Completion of Tech school program
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logic or Siemens Control systems.
  • Troubleshooting electrical problems
  • Reading manufacturer specifications or blueprints to assemble or disassemble complex systems.
  • Repairing and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

 

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $70,200 – $123,200
