Senior Data Warehouse Engineer

Job Description 

● Accountable for setting-up the architecture & maintenance processes of the central Data Warehouse that consumes ALL data from ALL systems, secures data harmonization & establish processes to secure flawless operation

● Supports ALL internal data customers (Marketing, CRM, Commercial Reporting & Consumer insights, Content management & viewership, Finance, Operations, etc)

● Interfaces with external vendors to establish & secure the necessary data integration points and data flows

● Designs and implements DWH and BI systems based on business and functional requirements as well as on Company product specifications.

● Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture

● Identify and gather various sources of data both structured and non-structured

● Decide how data sources or storage will scale for the future and how will be maintained

● Figure out the risk of 3rd party framework / platforms

● Configure Data Management Platform based on overall Tech architecture and product demands

● Create technical requirements for 3rd party / vendor solutions, evaluate proposals and steer vendors to deliver future-proof and high-quality solutions and services

● Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouse

● Define the data architecture framework, standards and principles, including modeling, metadata, security

● Define reference architecture, which is a pattern that others can follow to create and improve data systems

● Define data flows, i.e., which parts of the organization generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition

● Roll out data systems solutions and co-ordinate quality plus performance testing

● Evaluate the data mining strategy in terms of velocity, volume, variety, etc.

● Make data governance a priority

● Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems

● Translate a technical problem into business terms and the reverse

Requirements

● A relevant degree in the field of Engineering, IT

● 5+ years’ experience in data management and data integration

● Hands-on experience in Production Data Lake architecture in cloud and Big Data implementations in general

● Proficiency in Sql and ETL/ELT pipelines

● Deep knowledge in relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, Cassandra)

● Experience with AWS cloud services

● Additional hosting technologies knowledge Microsoft, Google, etc. is a plus

● Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages is a plus: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.

● Expertise in modern data warehousing techniques (dimensional data modeling)

● Data APIs Management and Architecture understanding

● Familiarity with Big Data models and tools

● Detail-oriented and ready to collaborate enthusiastically within the team

● Passionate and curious for the VOD and subscription based services in other words for the company’s DNA

● Ability to understand and support the unique needs of small businesses / start up

● Be able to accommodate and adapt to new market and IT trends

● Creative and strategic thinker, innovative problem-solving skills, highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, prioritize and meet tight deadlines

● Fluency in English
