About the Team
You will lead a team that powers the platform underpinning all of Aurora’s software products, including leads, proposals, designs, and plan sets. The highly collaborative and deeply technical team partners closely with other product teams to build the foundation on which the transition to solar energy is taking place. On any given day the team will be gathering input and vision from the CEO, presenting proposed solutions to customers, or collaborating with other product teams to build elegant solutions that span the entire product suite.
About the Role
This role is highly collaborative and cross-functional, and the ideal leader speaks with ease to customers, engineering partners, executives, designers, researchers, subject matter experts, and other product managers. You will identify and build key components of our software platform, making them available to internal and external teams through shared workflows, integration frameworks, and API interfaces. Your focus on unlocking future opportunities will expand Aurora’s product suite to power the entire solar ecosystem and lead the transition to renewable energy.
Your Impact
Build and develop a successful team of Product Managers that develops a culture of innovation, collaboration, and respect
Craft a strategic vision that evangelizes Aurora's long-term mission, taking into account rapid, repeatable, and sustained growth. Own a product roadmap that moves the company toward your vision and revisit priorities as market conditions change
Define metrics and KPIs with tracking mechanisms that measure product success connected to near and long-term goals
With cross-functional partners, define and manage capacity ensuring efficient allocation of resources, optimizing for planned and unplanned product initiatives
Develop new opportunities. With your finger on the pulse of the market and your viewpoint informed by customers, you are uniquely positioned to discover and develop new opportunities
What You Bring
Minimum of 3 years experience building and managing teams of Product Managers bringing technical SaaS products to market. You should be passionate about developing the next generation of product leaders, showing them what great execution looks like, and mentoring them through solving increasingly complex problems
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey and bring clarity to complex topics to cross-functional stakeholders
Proven track record of analyzing and interpreting complex data models and relationships, leading to the successful development and launch of new products targeting diverse personas and markets
Demonstrated history of shipping products quickly and iteratively in a startup environment
Nice to Haves
Technical degree, e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.
1+ years of equivalent background knowledge or experience working in the solar industry
A successful candidate does not necessarily need to be a domain expert, though that is a plus - we strive to hire someone who has at least 3 years of proven experience demonstrating curiosity, logic, and creativity among challenges, as well as leadership and influence across a variety of technical/non-technical functions
