**This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your current DOD Secret level Security Clearance. This position is also contingent upon contract award. Barring award of contract, this position will be relocated to Canberra, Australia within the first three (3) to nine (9) months of employment. **
Team AUKUS is responsible for the real time support of operational submarines keeping them at sea in support of national tasking, modernization of submarine equipment, financial and budget management, planning of submarine availabilities, shipyard support of submarines in availabilities, logistical support, quality assurance (SUBSAFE), and submarine certifications.
The Team AUKUS concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team AUKUS provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in the development of submarine program management, acquisition, sustainment, in-service, and logistics program support.
- Experience in military operations analysis, including requirements definition, conduct of analyses of alternatives, the JCIDS process, and DoD Acquisition experience.
- Leverage operational submarine knowledge to support AUKUS submarine programs.
- Develop strategies, plans, and documentation in program management and fleet support.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across the AUKUS program office and outside activities.
- Support acquisition planning and improve acquisition processes.
- Support submarine industrial base initiatives, studies, and analysis.
- Provide acquisition expertise regarding statutory, regulatory, and policy updates.
- Create and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to deliver meaningful acquisition support.
- Provide review and analysis of risk mitigation issues with respect to AUKUS program.
- Coordinate with AUKUS submarine platform key product support providers to identify, track and resolve product deficiencies.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, support development of briefings, action, and milestones.
- Assess and provide quality assurance feedback on all acquisition and sustainment documentation, draft instructions, and product deliverables.
- Experience with Foreign Military Sales.
- Ability to develop business relationships and generate/maintain funding to support small to mid-size teams and work collaboratively with company executive level management.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in Navy /NAVSEA / Submarine acquisition and sustainment experience. (12 years of relevant experience within a military environment may be considered in lieu of degree)
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required to be considered.
- Must be willing to relocate to Australia post-employment.
- Working knowledge of acquisition and modernization/alteration processes and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
- High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
- Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Travel up to 25% may be required.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- VA Class submarine experience is HIGHLY preferred.
