Texas Capital is looking for a first line leader to join TC’s Operations Department to drive transformation of TCs First Line of Defense risk and control functions including Operations and LOBs. As part of the First Line of Defense, the Business Control Office is accountable for maintaining a robust First Line risk and control environment that enables the bank to operate within its Board-approved risk appetite, fosters a strong risk and control culture, and is responsible to evolving business needs and regulatory expectations. As a first line leader, the Business Control Office engages with the lines of business to drive rigor and consistency in risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting, and to ensure that effective controls are proactively integrated into key business processes. The Business Control Office is a trusted advisor to executive management and a senior leader who sets “tone from the top” within the organization. This Business Control Office Manager will be directly responsible for maintaining the enterprise-wide operational risk assessment programs for the 1LOD, including the risk and control self-assessments, issue management, metrics monitoring, risk profiles, coordination with the LOBs, and other subject matter experts.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of various enterprise-wide risk assessments, working with key stakeholders to ensure timely completion and buy in.
  • Maintain the operational RCSA process across 1LOD.
  • Provide ongoing support for the risk assessment methodology, design and provide risk reports, and communication to LOB stakeholders throughout the Bank.
  • Provide guidance to LOBs and other stakeholders on RCSA practices.
  • Remain knowledgeable about the operational risks in the functional areas across the bank, including areas of cross organizational risk.
  • Maintain the RCSA procedures.
  • Provide operational risk management consultation, training and communication to various business units as needed.
  • Support LOBs in assessing operational risks and controls.
  • Gather, analyze and interpret operational risk management data at a macro level.
  • Develop report on operational risk results for the integrated operational risk reports and other reporting needs.
  • Oversee the 1LOD testing process across 1LOD, including design and effectiveness testing, and communicate results to management, 2LOD, and Internal Audit
  • Oversee the issue management process, including oversight and reporting of 1LOD assigned issues
  • Other duties as assigned.
