On our team as a Nutrition Food Service Aid, your job will be to create a healing environment and nutritious food — just like our patients have come to expect. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) between 6:00AM – 8:00PM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. This caregiver will work an average of 32 hours per week.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Prepare quality food items in accordance with production sheets, recipes and menus.
Operate kitchen equipment.
Prepare food on the grill, in ovens or using an induction stove.
Prepare cold food items, vegetables, salad mixes and sandwich spreads.
Selecting, measuring, grinding, slicing and mixing ingredients.
Assist the cook and nutrition assistants.
Participate in the process of preparing food.
Assist in the assembly of food for final preparation.
Assemble, transport and pick up patient trays to and from patient rooms.
Assist in preparing, setting up, serving and cleaning up special dinners and luncheons.
Follow proper sanitation procedures to produce, maintain, and leave a clean, sanitized, and organized work area.
Practice proper food handling techniques and the “clean as you go” policy.
Organize supplies and food products.
Operate, load and unload the dishwasher.
Report any failure or malfunction of equipment or utility (e.g., gas, electric, water, steam) to a supervisory person
