Are you looking to create capability and competencies in Operational Excellence for the leader in the Medical Technology industry?
As Sr. Director, Operational Excellence/Training & HR Lead, you will have responsibility to deliver training content that enables the enterprise evolution of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS) and plan and execute process improvements, aligned with strategic goals, across the human resources organization.
This position will work closely with Operational Excellence practitioners to deliver a comprehensive curriculum to accelerate the understanding and adoption of MPS; facilitate training and kaizen events; and develop standards and capability assessments to assure sustained progress and embracement of continuous improvement mindset. You will coach global HR leaders to build organizational capabilities to create a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.
You will be at the forefront of Medtronic’s Mission to Alleviate Pain, Restore Health, and Extend Life by developing the skills and competencies of our teams to deliver life-saving products.
A Day in the Life
Identify and develop strategic capabilities, competency assessments, and the training and development of practitioners to deploy use of continuous improvement tools to help solve business challenges across functions, geographies, and levels throughout the enterprise organization.
Develop new and evolve existing MPS standards to reflect organizational needs and external best practices to accelerate continuous improvement and common operating system adoption.
Identify organizational needs required to achieve strategic plans. Develop and execute plans that deliver annual improvements in performance, process excellence, and programmatic savings
Establish enterprise capability, program management and governance, and regional training functions. Manage team performance, develop talent, promote engagement and inclusion, and direct the responsibilities of the team.
Facilitate strategic kaizen events with executive leadership teams.
Partner with senior leaders and functional subject matter experts to build and assess organizational MPS capabilities to groom “one best way” methods and tools
Develop, govern, and deliver sustained quantitative and qualitative results of Operational excellence effectiveness within human resources
Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies to optimize training efficiency and effectiveness.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years of experience in Business Operations, and/or operational excellence structures (TPM, DBS, etc.)
Certified: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
