About The Role

Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for the world's leading organizations. An Analyst is a thought leader in Gartner’s Business & Technology Insights practice and produces pragmatic and provocative solutions to propel Gartner clients towards their mission critical priorities. They are a trusted source of advice for clients, in virtual meetings, sales support meetings and Gartner conferences.

This Analyst will apply their experience with identity and access management (IAM) cyber security products to create high impact research into IAM cyber security markets and advise our Technology Product Leader clients.

The Analyst will identify key opportunities for our clients (who are Product Managers at global technology companies) to differentiate IAM cyber security products, compete against established and emerging players and grow product revenue. They will articulate strategies to exploit emerging market and competitive dynamics that drive market share growth.  The Analyst will leverage available primary and secondary data sources and collaborate with peer Analysts to deliver high impact, world-class insights and advice.

The ideal candidate will have product management experience working at large or global technology product and service providers managing IAM products and capabilities across a range of IAM cyber security markets:

  • Identity governance and administration (IGA)

  • Access management (AM),

  • Privileged access management (PAM)

  • User authentication

Please note this is an individual contributor role and NOT a leadership role with direct reports.


What You Will Do

  • Create innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have research” for global technology provider company clients

  • Develop research that offers compelling, actionable approaches to client's needs and accelerate the client's ability to drive revenue growth

  • Build in-depth analysis to identify the root cause of client performance barriers and reframe client thinking to drive their business strategy forward

  • Establish research positions that are adopted across a cohort of Analysts

  • Provide high quality and timely research content peer review

  • Be a trusted advisor to client leaders portfolios through client inquiry

  • Have credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategy during meetings with client Executive Teams.

  • Validate client strategies and accelerate client decision making by providing available data and use cases that de-risk their business decisions.

  • Create and deliver high value presentation materials for virtual and in-person Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings

  • Provide sales support for large and global technology company clients and prospects.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 12 + years of relevant experience in the IAM cyber security market

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Familiarity with a wide range of IAM cyber security markets including leading access management products, best practices, commonly used technologies, and vendors

  • Full lifecycle product management experience: building product strategy, launching new products, managing product evolution, product pricing and packaging, messaging and market collaboration, product delivery management, managing in- and end-of-life product activities.

  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions during 1:1 client engagements

  • Ability to produce high-quality written deliverables within scheduled deadlines

  • Comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Ability to synthesize data quickly and accurately from multiple sources

  • Superior analytical skills applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions

  • Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables

  • Executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders

  • Willingness and foundation ability to mentor and coach others
