Job Description:
The Library Services Student Assistant is responsible for:
- Dressing in “business casual” attire while at work (quick changes are allowed).
- Greeting researchers.
- Registering researchers.
- Ensuring researchers sign-in and sign-out of the Belew Scholars’ Room.
- Assigning and providing access to lockers.
- Answering initial questions about library use.
- Using video surveillance equipment to ensure the security of materials while they are in the Belew Scholars’ Room.
- Providing directional information for the 3rd floor and Elizabeth Barrett Browning Salon to building tourists.
General Qualifications:
- Punctuality, reliability and responsibility a must.
Initiative. - Excellent attention to detail a must.
- Accurate keyboarding skills.
- Good spelling and grammar usage.
- High GPA desirable.
- Genuine interest in books and libraries desirable.
Previous library work experience desirable.
