Work Schedule: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Monday through Friday 

Desired Length of Employment: Summer/Ongoing

Pay Rate: $10/hour

Job Description:

The Library Services Student Assistant is responsible for: 

  • Dressing in “business casual” attire while at work (quick changes are allowed).
  • Greeting researchers.
  • Registering researchers.
  • Ensuring researchers sign-in and sign-out of the Belew Scholars’ Room.
  • Assigning and providing access to lockers.
  • Answering initial questions about library use.
  • Using video surveillance equipment to ensure the security of materials while they are in the Belew Scholars’ Room.
  • Providing directional information for the 3rd floor and Elizabeth Barrett Browning Salon to building tourists.

 

General Qualifications:

  • Punctuality, reliability and responsibility a must.
    Initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail a must.
  • Accurate keyboarding skills.
  • Good spelling and grammar usage.
  • High GPA desirable.
  • Genuine interest in books and libraries desirable.
    Previous library work experience desirable.
