About the role
The Product Management Senior Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for the development of product plans, strategies and tactics in coordination with the Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.
Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Health: Deeply evaluate and closely monitor the health of the Cash franchise, looking at each product separately and together and providing a POV on all financial and behavioral metrics. These would include ROA, all margins (% and absolute), revenue growth, Interest Bearing Balance growth. Develop and defend a view to the future of the business and a range of quantitative scenarios within each product and across the products. Strategic view would include relative potential and profitability of the business relative to other options at Citi and competition.
- Financial Monitoring/Management: Manage all aspects of the P&L (where we are, reforecasting, Plan process); provide perspective on the financials of the business using analysis of key drivers and provide POV on what we can do to impact how we are progressing as a business. Develop a monitoring cadence, template, and system across functions to ensure that the Cash team is consistently informed and prepared for questions
- Forecasting: Partner very closely with Finance, Decision Management and Risk to develop, engage with and opine on all forecasts – both in year, for Plan and for longer range. Partner with entire Cash team to ensure forecast reflects acquisition strategy and ECM strategy and initiatives. Quickly identify risks and opportunities. Work with Cash Acquisition team to understand PERA forecasts vs. actuals and ensure dynamics considered for Cash forecast
- Product development: Identify opportunities to plug gaps in product portfolio for Cash either through development of new products that fit the needs of the organization or expanding the usage of existing products into new segments that Citi is under-penetrated
- Assist in development and analysis of strategic product roadmaps, product enhancement and development, product launches, and product marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product, as well as review surveys and analyze competitive industry landscapes to identify relative trends, threats, and opportunities for product managers
- Participate in day-to-day product management for core products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies as well as help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results
- Execute client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients
- Provide informal guidance or on-the-job training to new team members
- Oversee client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and assist product managers in addressing fundamental trials of product commoditization to create an advanced set of solutions
- Contribute to achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals as well as oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps business plans
- Implement team procedures, client problem resolution, and client management
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience
- Knowledge of marketing, credit, acquisitions, product development, and/or analytics
- Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree. Master’s degree preferred
